"We want to win trophies," Wout Weghorst says Manchester United is hungry for more success
Manchester United ended their six-year trophy drought as they defeated Newcastle United in the finals of Carabao Cup last month. The Red Devils recently booked a place in the quarterfinals of the Europa League after claiming a 5-1 aggregate victory over Real Betis in the last 16. They are also scheduled to face Fulham in the FA Cup quarterfinals on Sunday.
Manchester United could win as many as three titles this season, as striker Wout Weghorst revealed that the club is hungry for more success this season.
"The match against Newcastle [Carabao Cup final] at Wembley was a great experience - a lovely atmosphere in the stadium - it has something special," said Weghorst.
“But, like I said, that’s what we want. We want to win trophies. The one we have now just showed us that we can do it again; we are all hungry for more, all of us," said Weghorst.
Manchester United are just one step away from playing at Wembley once again. A win against Fulham on Sunday will ensure that they remain in the hunt for the FA Cup as well. Wout Weghorst asserted that their goal was to not just reach the last four, but also win the title. The Red Devils last won the competition in 2016, when they defeated Crystal Palace in the finals.
