Welcome to Pixstory! Pixstory is a simple and elegant way for you to tell stories through photos.

Your privacy is important to us. That’s why we only ask for personal information when we need it. We are compliant with internationally recognized standards of privacy protection, such as the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

How we collect information

Information that we collect falls into three categories:

a) Information that you give us directly

When you create an account on Pixstory, you provide us with your phone number or email address. You can also choose to provide us with additional information, such as a profile photo or other social media accounts. This information will enable you to be found by people on Pixstory, or to find your friends on the app. If you choose to buy or sell images on Pixstory, you may be asked to provide information associated with your bank account.

You also provide us access to any content that you create, share or receive on Pixstory, such as photos, comments, or messages. This includes communications between you and Pixstory.

b) Information that we receive when you use our services

Analytics – We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for Pixstory. These include the posts you view, the filters you use, the length of time you spend on our app, the searches you run, your purchase activity, and other information that helps us improve our service and personalize content.

Camera and Photos – When you upload or share content on Pixstory, we may ask for permission to access your Camera Roll and Photos.

Audio – When you use Pixstory to record audio captions, we may receive voice and audio information.

Device Information - We may collect information from or about the device you use to access our service. This includes information about your network connection, phone model, or OS version.

Cookies - We may collect data via cookies when you use Pixstory’s website. Cookies are little pieces of data stored on the user's computer while browsing a website. We set cookies that work with the Google Analytics service. We use them to help understand your activity on Pixstory and provide you with a better service, as well as to help us show ads.

We don’t use cookies when you log in via the app.

Location Information - When you use certain features, Pixstory may ask you for information about your location. This is voluntary, and we do not collect location information if you do not assent.

Log Information – We collect information about the pages viewed, number of clicks, and other information such as your IP address while you use our service.

Metadata - We may collect information in or about the content you provide (such as the location in which a photo was taken, or its timestamp).

c) Information that we receive from third parties

We may collect information about you from other account users, affiliates or other trusted third parties. If you link your Pixstory account to another service or app, we may collect information from that service or app.

We process personal data because we have a legitimate interest in doing so- we use the data to perfect the service we provide you. We also process data based on consent.

How we share information

We may share your profile information and general content that you post with our business partners or other Pixstory users, in order to help you find connections (you can restrict this based on your Privacy Settings).

We may share information about you with third parties such as service providers or our business affiliates, in order to better understand how you use our service, show you accounts you may be interested in, and to improve your user experience generally. We use Google Vision API, Google Cloud Speech, Google Translate, Sendgrid, and Twilio. These parties may receive information about you, which will be governed by their own terms and policies.

We may share information about you in order to improve the safety and security of our service, or to comply with applicable law.

We may share information about you as part of a merger or acquisition. (If Pixstory is acquired by another company, that company will be bound by the terms of this policy.)

We may share anonymized or aggregated information with third parties.

How we store information

We store your information in our data centre, hosted on Amazon Web Services. When you create a Pixstory account, you consent to the storage, use and transfer of your information.

We store your account information – such as user name or phone number on our server until you request account deletion.

We store your location information according to the services you use and your settings.

We may retain your information for some time even after account deletion, depending on legal and safety requirements.

Links to other websites

If you follow a link to any third-party website from our app, please check those sites’ policies before you share information with them.

Your profile and account settings:

You can change or update your profile settings, or change who can see your posts at any time.

You can delete or disable your account by using the delete account feature in your account settings page.

Your rights

You have the right to access a copy of your personal information in a portable format (by sending an email to support@pixstory.com) and to correct it, or object to it. You can also revoke consent, or request that we do not process or share data under certain circumstances. You can do this by editing your Settings. However, revoking consent may mean that you lose the full functionality of our service.

Children’s privacy

Pixstory is not meant for the use of anyone under the age of 13. Please let us know if you are aware of anyone under the age of 13 who is using this service.
