The Security Exchange Commission under the Biden administration temporarily ceased their pursuit of a new rule that would have required private companies to disclose hardware emissions data after it was sued by 25 attorneys general and many business groups.
The rule would have required private businesses to disclose the various climate-related risks and release plans to adapt to climate agenda recommendations according to the Missouri Attorney General. The lawsuit has resulted in the 5th Circuit granting an administrative stay of the rule while the lawsuits against it were consolidated, and ultimately got the Biden administration to halt the rule.
Biden and his Democrats' insane climate agenda is going too far. To require private businesses to release climate-related data is completely outside the authority of the SEC. It would completely destroy the bottom lines of millions of businesses across the country, and would ultimately cost billions of dollars to them. These nonsense regulations help nobody. They don't help the private sector, they don't help Americans, and they most certainly don't help American business competing against foreign nations who might not have similar rules.
