saurabh duggal's post analyses the performance of key players on a scale of good to poor and finds Shami was not the only one to blame for the loss.
This defense of Shami misses the point.
Leave statistics aside. It's a moral question: Even if the performance of the other 10 was outstanding and Shami was singularly responsible for India' loss, would the abuse then be justified?
It does not matter who played well or didn't. The abuse is wrong. Full Stop. It doesn't need statistical insights to be condemnable.
Also, the Shami debate focusses only on fan abuse. But what about team spirit? Spineless cricketers are taking the knee for racial inequality in the US, but can't stand up when their own teammate is abused!
