Courtois credits Ter Stegen for Barca lead

Ahead of a huge El Clasico in the league tonight, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has come out and praised his Barcelona counterpart Marc Andre Ter Stegen.  Barca go into the game with a 9 point lead, having conceded a mere 8 goals in the entire league campaign so far.

The Belgian shot stopper said," This year Barça has a very good defensive base and the few chances they get are resolved with Ter Stegen. They have won many games by 1 -0 and if it weren't for him, these games would have ended in a draw."

Ter Stegen had a bad couple of years but has been absolutely brilliant this season. Courtois however felt differently. "I don't think he has improved at all, because Ter Stegen has always been a great goalkeeper. Sometimes there are bumps in your career and you have the bad luck that maybe they mark you an unfortunate goal sometimes", he remarked.
