Bengaluru FC beat Mumbai City FC on penalties in a thriller to advance to the ISL final. BFC had won the first leg away 1-0 courtesy a Sunil Chhetri goal. Bengaluru took the lead through Javi Hernandez but Chhange equalised for Mumbai in the first half. Mehtab Singh then made it 2-2 on aggregate when he headed in from a corner.
The game was an extremely exciting end to end affair, even till the end of extra time. This was after all the best team in the first phase of the ISL in Mumbai vs Bengaluru, who were on a 10 game winning streak.
The penalty shootout was also one of perfection as both sides were flawless for the first 8 penalties. Mehtab Singh then went from hero to villian as he had his spot-kick saved by Sandhu. Sandesh Jhinghan then stepped up to seal the deal.
BFC will take on the winner of today's ATK Mohun Bagan vs Hyderabad FC tomorrow.
