Barcelona News: Thomas Tuchel Wants to Manage In Spain!
Xavi's shock announcement that he is leaving Barcelona this summer has brought forth a lot of questions. Among them, the first and foremost would certainly be the question of who would be replacing the Spaniard.
In a recent event hosted by Bayern's fan club, Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel claimed that he would like to manage in Spain. The German also praised the Spanish players claiming that they have a lot of self-confidence.
Tuchel said, "Moving abroad would appeal to me again. Spain has an extraordinary league. From my perspective, and based on my experience working with Spaniards, they are characterized by a tremendous amount of self-confidence. When you speak with Spanish players, I quickly get the sense that you are engaging with the person."
Tuchel may even get his wish as soon as this coming summer as he has failed to settle in at Bayern. The Bavarians are yet to hit top gear and are playing catchup to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. Tuchel does run the risk of getting sacked if Bayern fail to win the Bundesliga or the Champions League.
Will the former Chelsea manager be a good fit for Barcelona? Let me know your thoughts...
