Turkish reporter Nevzat Dindar dropped an intriguing piece of transfer news stating that the Gunners have submitted a €17m (£14.8m) bid for Galatasaray's talented defender, Sacha Boey.
The 22-year-old defender primarily plays as a right back. Having joined Galatasaray from Rennes in 2021, Boey has made 50 appearances for the club in all competitions. The 2022/23 season has been a breakthrough for Boey, who has started 29 SuperLig games for Galatasaray.
However, it seems that Arsenal's initial offer may not be enough to sway the Turkish club into parting ways with their prized asset. Galatasaray is reportedly holding out for a higher fee, closer to €25m, indicating their reluctance to let go of the promising right-back.
Boey still has a few years remaining on his current contract, and while he has expressed his openness to a potential summer move, Galatasaray are determined to secure a more substantial financial package before granting his departure.
Undeniably, Arsenal are in dire need of reinforcements on the right-hand side of their defense. Injuries to Takehiro Tomiyasu and William Saliba have exposed the squad's lack of depth in that area.
At present, it seems that Arsenal are taking a cautious approach, deliberating over their next move regarding Boey. The club is carefully considering their options before making any further advances.
