As we enter the final round of group matches in this edition's World Cup, there is still a lot at stake for the 32 teams involved. Of the 32 teams, only 16 will make it to the next round, whereas the other 16 will return home. So let us analyze each group and see who will survive.
Group A
Netherlands: A win or draw against Qatar will see them through to the next round.
Ecuador: Like the Netherlands, Ecuador must avoid defeat against Senegal to qualify.
Senegal: Their fate is in their hand, and a win against Ecuador is the need of the hour for Senegal.
Qatar: The hosts will be playing for pride against the Dutch.
Group B
England: The Three Lions must avoid defeat against rivals Wales to seal their place in the round of 16.
Iran: A win or draw ( depending on Wales' result) against the USA will be enough for their survival.
USA: The Americans need all three points against Iran to keep their WC dream alive.
Wales: Anything less than a win will end Wales' return to the grand stage.
Group C
Argentina: The South Americans must win their final group match against Poland.
Poland: A draw against Argentina is enough for Poland to make it to the next round.
Saudi Arabia: A win or draw (depending on Argentina's result) for the Saudis against Mexico will be good enough for their progress.
Mexico: The Mexicans are in quicksand and need to win their final group match with a margin of 2-3 goals.
Group D
France: The defending champions have already sealed their place in the round of 16
Australia: Australia needs to avoid defeat against Denmark to qualify.
Denmark: The Danes have to produce a result against Australia to qualify.
Tunisia: Tunisia has to overcome the mighty French, and that might not even be enough for their qualification.
Group E
Spain: The Spaniards must avoid defeat against Japan to qualify.
Germany: Only a win against Costa Rica will be enough for the Germans.
Japan: The Japanese need a win to seal their fate.
Costa Rica: They also need a win to qualify.
