Numerous responses have been given to the Premier League's news that Manchester City has violated more than 100 of its financial rules. The alleged violations are said to have occurred between 2009 and 2018. A number of penalties, including expulsion from the Premier League, could be imposed on Pep Guardiola's team if it is determined that City broke financial rules and regulations.
Three times throughout the aforementioned span, City won the league, and many supporters of rival teams want those victories to be nullified. Guardiola, who commanded the team when they won the championship in 2017–18, had not yet spoken. On Friday, before his team's game against Aston Villa, he addressed the media. The Spaniard hinted about leaving the team last season if he discovered the hierarchy had mislead him about the situation.
On Tuesday, Erik ten Hag, his opponent, was asked what he thought of the Premier League charges. It's interesting to note that Guardiola's first English league championship came in the season when Manchester United came in second. Ten Hag, however, answered the question, as he frequently has at United. "I don't have an opinion since I'm not here for financial regulations; I'm a football manager," the Dutch coach stated. I must adhere to it, and others must put up with that. The United manager is definitely focused on making sure that his players continue their recent hot streak.
