The north-eastern state of Tripura has only two constituencies, Tripura East and Tripura West. The hill state, which has a population of 36.74 lakhs as per the 2011 census voted in two phases in the national elections of 2019.
The Election Commission announced two-phase polling in the state; polls in the Tripura West seat was held on April 11 in the first phase in 2019 elections. Polling in the Tripura East seat was to be held on April 18 in the second phase, which was postponed to the third phase on April 23.
Both the seats of Tripura were won by the Bhartiaya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
The 2024 Indian general election in Tripura will be held in 2 Phases, on 19 April 2024 and 26 April 2024 to elect 2 members of 18th Lok Sabha. Bye-poll for Ramnagar will be held with Phase-I of this election.
