The Urdu Department of Banaras  Hindu University has achieved the achievement of conducting the first research in the country on the Urdu translation of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta.  Balwinder Singh, a research student of the Urdu Department, has done research on the Urdu translation of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta from the Urdu Department of BHU.  He also got his degree in the convocation ceremony of the university last month.  Now Balwinder is preparing to do research on the Urdu translation of Ramayana.

At present, more than 250 students are studying in UG-PG and research in BHU Urdu Department.  There are 40 research students in it.  One of them is Balwinder Singh, a native of Jammu, who did research on the Urdu translation of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and has obtained a PhD degree.  Head of Department Prof.  Aftab Ahmed Afaki claims that this is the first research done in the universities of the country on the Urdu translation of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta.
