Apple Cider vinegar is magic
This is so informative. Gonna try using apple cider vinegar! As a person with combination skin which is very sensitive, I can relate with your friend. For this type of skin, sometimes, minimalism is the best way to go.
Knowing how to take care of your skin so it not only looks it’s best, but feels that way too, can be challenging. I have combination skin, so both dry and oily, that is not very sensitive, and so for me I can use a range of products and see a difference. Whereas one of my friends has very sensitive combination skin, and has to be very particular about what she uses and the ingredients in the product.
Going to a dermatologist can be helpful and sometimes needed, which I have done. But I like to use natural and holistic approaches rather than medication for my skin and when I get acne flare ups. One of my favorite products is witch hazel. It contains anti-inflammatory and antiviral components that can help calm skin and keep it moisturized. I like to use witch hazel as an alternative to toner. I used to Mario Badescu toner sprays and then I did some research and saw that they contained a lot of chemicals and fragrance, which is not good for your skin, so I switched to witch hazel.
I simply pour the witch hazel, sometimes with a small amount of apple cider vinegar, in my old Mario Badescu spray bottles, because hey why waste them, and use that as a toner. Beware that adding apple cider vinegar will smell, but it also does wonders for your skin (I’ll do another post solely on apple cider vinegar benefits).
You can also dilute the witch hazel with water to begin with if your nervous about how your skin will take it. There are a lot of brands of witch hazel out there, but are not all great for your skin. My favorite is TN Dickinsons 100% natural witch hazel. The key to picking one, I think, is 100% witch hazel and making sure there are no fragrances or chemicals in the ingredients (I always check the ingredients list when buying skin care and if I see a bunch of chemicals I skip the product).
