"That is what we need," Mikel Arteta reveals one thing which Arsenal lack
Arsenal succumbed to a shock defeat at home against West Ham United, as they lost 2-0. Things could have been worse, as David Raya made a late penalty save. The hosts have now claimed just one win in their last four league matches, with defeats to Aston Villa and West Ham.
Arsenal had about 80 touches in the opposition box against the Hammers, however, it was the final pass and the touch which was lacking. Mikel Arteta acknowledged the fact that his side need to improve in this aspect if they are to mount a serious challenge for the league title.
"If we don't improve in the boxes, no. Because at the end that is what it is. But generating the rest, yeah. You say it is a record, no? I don't think there are many teams in the league who have done that for many years. Something very positive, I think," Arteta on his side creating the record for most touches in the opposition box without scoring.
"Without a spark you don't generate what the team generated today. It is impossible. But it is the final thing, the final touch, the final action that puts the ball in the net or not. That is what we need."
