Tata Motors continues its electric vehicle (EV) push with the Punch EV, offering two battery options – 25kWh with a range of 315km (MIDC) and Long Range 35kWh with an impressive 421km (MIDC) range. The launch followed the inauguration of two exclusive EV showrooms in Gurugram, aligning with Tata's strategy to open more such outlets in Tier-I and Tier-II cities in the next 12-18 months.
Highlighting their commitment, Tata Motors emphasizes the Acti.Ev platform's "optimized battery pack design" boasting a 10 percent increase in energy density. This platform provides a versatile range from 300 km to 600 km. The acti.ev incorporates a 7.2kW to 11kW onboard charger for AC fast charging and supports rapid DC charging up to 150kW, enabling a 100 km range in just 10 minutes.
In line with its ambitious electric agenda, Tata Motors previously pledged a $2 billion investment in EVs by 2027. To fortify the EV supply chain, the company is establishing a battery manufacturing facility in Gujarat. Moreover, the Sanand plant, acquired from Ford Motor Company, is gearing up for electric car production, signifying Tata Motors' comprehensive commitment to an electrified future.
