Disney and Lucasfilm have announced details for the upcoming Volume 2 of Star Wars: Visions and said that the second volume of the animated anthology series will launch on May 4 on Star Wars Day.
The series will feature nine new shorts from nine studios from around the globe adding more to the Star Wars mythos. Each feature will be representing unique animation styles from a variety of countries and cultures, depicting each filmmaker’s specific vision of the Star Wars galaxy.
“The reaction to the first volume of Star Wars: Visions blew us away. We were delighted that this project inspired and resonated with so many people,” Executive producer James Waugh said in a statement.
“We always saw Star Wars: Visions as a framework for celebratory expressions of the franchise from some of the best creators working today. Animation is in a global renaissance, and we’re constantly staggered by the amount of creativity pushing the medium forward.
The studios behind the shorts are El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (UK), Studio Mir (South Korea) Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), Triggerfish (South Africa), and D'art Shtajio (Japan - in collaboration with Lucasfilm, US).

Screecher's Reach - Paul Young (Cartoon Saloon)
In the Stars - Gabriel Osorio (Punkrobot)
I Am Your Mother - Magdalena Osinska (Aardman)
Journey to the Dark Head - Hyeong Geun Park (Studio Mir)
