After watching the first season of Stranger Things, I left the series due to the desire for closure and character development. The first season was a tightly written and well-paced story that fused sci-fi, horror, and 80s nostalgia. However, the subsequent seasons, particularly seasons two and three, seemed less cohesive and more like an afterthought.
The departure of the Byers family from Hawkins, including Eleven, was a significant turning point in the series. This decision was primarily driven by the character's psychological factors and the practical need for a more viable means of income, especially for Joyce, a working-class single mother. The move to California provided Joyce with an opportunity to sell encyclopedias over the phone, which was more feasible than staying in Hawkins.
However, leaving Hawkins didn't keep the Byers safe from the supernatural events of the series. In Stranger Things season 4, they returned to the story, albeit not in Hawkins. Despite the challenges they faced in California, the Byers family's departure was a necessary step for their personal growth and financial stability.
As for the question of whether to start watching the series again, it ultimately depends on personal preferences. Stranger Things is known for its supernatural events, engaging characters, and emotional storytelling. If one enjoys these elements, revisiting the series could be a rewarding experience.
