Popular head coach Leandro Jardim failed to integrate the new players and deal with the important departures after a hectic summer of comings and goings for Monaco. He was fired in October as the team lingered in the relegation zone following a disastrous start to the season. With a 3-1 victory over Nantes on the road, things got off to a good start, but they wouldn't win again until the 24th of November.
Thierry Henry, a club legend and rookie coach, succeeded Jardim despite considerable doubts. His sole coaching experience was as Roberto Martinez's assistant in Belgium, and his reign was dismal.
He was also fired in late January after overseeing a team that managed only two league victories.
After that, Jardim received a second term as head coach, which was both well-liked and effective. He supervised an improvement in performances and results, including a seven-game winning streak that was crucial in keeping them in Ligue 1.
