Alcon GSB unity Cup organized by Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, in association with Goa Saraswat Samaj, saw Rangers beat Margao Royals by five wickets and Sinq Rangers defeated Antruz Rising Stars by eight wickets on Sunday. Both the matches were played at the Panaji Gymkhana ground.
In the morning session, Madgaon Royals scored 142 all out in 20 overs before Rangers chased down the target with the loss of five wickets in 19.2 overs. Aditya Dalal top-scored for Margao with 24 runs. In reply, openers Yash Prabhugaonkar(40) and Amod Borkar(38) helped Rangers win the match with their valuable contributions. Amod Borkar won the Man of the Match award.
The match in the afternoon session was a one-sided affair. Antruz Rising Stars were bowled out for 90 in 16.2 overs by Sinq Rangers. Sinq Rangers then chased down the target in 11 overs with 8 wickets to spare two. Ved Mhambre (38) and captain Samruddha Bharne (24 not out ) contributed significantly to the team's victory. Sanath Mhapne was adjudged man of the match for his 3 wickets.
