Rajasthan has a history of alternating between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1993.
It contributes 25 seats to the Lok Sabha and will go to polls in two phases on April 29 and May 6. On these days, the country conducted its fourth and fifth phases of the national elections in 2019.
The constituencies that voted on April 29 were Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran.
On May 06th, the remaining 12 constituencies of Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur will vote.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (NDA) won 24 seats out of 25 and 1 seat was won by the Indian National Congress (INC)
This year also, the 2024 Indian general election in Rajasthan will be held in two phases i.e., on 19 April 2024, and 26 April 2024, to elect 25 members of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha.
