I am sure you heard about Nickelodeon, also known as Nick, a channel known for running kids show, but according to recent reports the channel has created toxic work environment for artists of popular Nickelodeon kids’ shows.
A docu-series of investigations has been released about allegations of abuse and toxic behavior by Nickelodeon producer and screenwriter Dan Schneider, who produced several successful shows in the ‘90s and early 2000s, including “All That”, “The Amanda Show”, “Kenan & Kel,” “Sam & Cat,” “Drake & Josh,” “Zoey 101,”and “iCarly”. These shows were wildly popular and led to the growth of many young stars, but the dark side of these comedy sketches and cheery series are allegations of sexism, racism, abuse, and inappropriate behavior with underage actors and crew.
The report coincides with the launch of four-part docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, which premiered March 17 and 18. Schneider’s representatives have responded to certain claims both on the show and in Rolling Stone‘s report.
Several cast members alleged that several scenes written in Schneider-affiliated kid’s shows were sexually inappropriate.
The docuseries alleged All That‘s Leon Frierson played a character called “Captain Big Nose,” who had shoulder pads in the shape of phalluses. Schneider was also accused of developing a character called Penelope Taynt on The Amanda Show.
Nickelodeon star Drake Bell is calling out "Boy Meets World" stars Will Friedle and Rider Strong over their past support of his convicted abuser, Brian Peck.
Bell is breaking his silence about the abuse he allegedly suffered at the hands of Peck in the new docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," premiering tonight on Investigation Discovery.
The docuseries shared unsealed court documents from Peck’s trial, which contained letters supporting the convicted sex offender from Friedle and Strong, as well as other stars like James Marsden, Taran Killam, and the late Alan Thicke.
