OK, aside from the initial discomfort (and this is all it should be - discomfort) there should not be any pain when having sex postpartum.
It is shocking how many women feel some sort of pelvic pain when they have sex post partum and they just assume it is normal and will go away. Here is the thing, it probably won't. Remember pain is our body's way of alerting us to the fact that something is not quite right. It is letting us know perhaps we need to be checked. When you feel ready to get back to sex postpartum and you notice there is pain that does not subside then it is time to do the obligatory check with an OBGYN but the the most important person to see is a Women's Health Physiotherapist.
Don't let pain become the norm. If you are not enjoying then what even is the point!
