The short answer is - Yes ! Sex and intimacy can be tough for new parents . Less time , tiredness , hormonal changes and worries about contraception can make it difficult . And it is okay to not feel enticed . But it is not okay to blame yourself for it ! It's important to remember that physical intimacy is not just about sex , it's also about touch , connection and emotional intimacy !
Why it occurs ?
Hormonal changes , stress , anxiety , being overwhelmed & preoccupied all contribute to it .
What can you do ?
Talk to your partner about your bodily autonomy . Take your time ! If you and your partner have both gone a bit cool on sex , it’s no problem . But if you and your partner have different levels of sexual desire , this can add some stress to your relationship ! In most relationships , things do get back on track but it’s important to be patient . If you’re concerned that your sex life is off track , talk with your partner .
