Olivier Giroud is on the verge of leaving AC Milan when his contract ends in June. The Frenchman is close to joining the MLS team Los Angeles FC, as per a report from L’Equipe. This move would reunite him with his former France teammate and friend Hugo Lloris, who recently joined LAFC.
There are still some paperwork matters to finalize before Giroud can make the move to Los Angeles FC. The MLS club has been working hard for weeks to convince Giroud to make the move to the United States, ending his successful career in Europe.
Giroud is the current top scorer for the French national team with 56 goals. However, It's expected that the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany will be his last with the the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners.
Having represented the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, AC Milan, and Montpellier among other clubs, Giroud has won multiple trophies including the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League title with the Blues.
