Napoli are continuing to pursue Antonio Conte, though recent attempts have fallen short. Conte declined a midseason takeover but left the door open for the future, according to TuttoSport. AC Milan are also linked to Conte, but Stefano Pioli's stability may give Napoli an advantage.
Quite a few summer managerial changes are anticipated in Europe, with Xavi and Jurgen Klopp leaving Barcelona and Liverpool respectively. Erik Ten Hag and Thomas Tuchel are also facing uncertainty at Manchester United and Bayern Munich whereas Newcastle United and Chelsea might also have openings. Hence, Napoli might have some competition to sign Conte this summer.
One thing that helps the Italian club is that Conte is inclined towards Serie A rather than an international role. The Scudetto holders are keen on him, but Milan or Juventus could be the manager's preference is what is being said at the moment.
Currently 9th in the Serie A table, Napoli could miss out on European positions at the end of the season. If this is the case, it has to be seen if Conte would prefer to join the Naples-based club or if he would pursue another job in the summer.
