Man United's Champions League Hopes All But Over after 4-3 Loss to Chelsea!
Two late goals from Cole Palmer in injury time gave Chelsea an important 4-3 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last night. The win provides a much-needed boost for Mauricio Pochettino and his Blues.
However for Manchester United, the loss to Chelsea all but ended their UEFA Champions League hopes. Traditionally the top four in the Premier League would have qualified. But with the competition expanding to 36 teams, the fifth-placed team may also have a chance to qualify for the tournament.
Currently, Tottenham Hotspur occupy the fifth spot with 57 points from 30 Premier League games. Manchester United are sixth with 48 points, currently nine points short of the Spurs with just eight games remaining in the season.
To make matters worse, Erik Ten Hag's side face Liverpool this weekend in what could see them losing more points in the fight for the last Champions League spot. Do United have any chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League? Let me know your thoughts...
