Mayank Yadav, the 21-year old LSG pacer has suffered a setback in the game against GT as he walked off the field after bowling just one over. The right-arm pacer looked in trouble right from the first ball he bowled and throughout the over, and ended up giving 13 runs in the over.
The main issue was that his pace was down considerably and the fastest ball was delivered at 140.9 Kph in the over. It is well below his usual pace as in the couple of games he has played so far, he has consistently bowled over 150 Kph.
Soon after the over he left the field with the physio and is reportedly suffering from side strain. Mayank Yadav has caught the imagination of cricket fans around the world with his raw pace and has delivered the fastest ball of IPL 2024 - 156.7 kph.
In the two matches before the GT game, Mayank Yadav won two back-to-back player of the match awards with three wickets in each games and would have hoped to continue his form in this game as well.
The seriousness of the injury is still unknown and all cricket fans would be hoping that the youngman gets fit soon, and continues to deliver his rapid bullets for many years to come.
