The 2019 general elections in Karnataka were held in two phases – April 18 and April 23. There are 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. JDS and INC faced the polls with alliance while BJP contested alone.
The Bhartiya Janata Party won 25 seats, and Sumalatha Ambareesh, an Independent candidate from Mandya, created history in the 2019 election. She became the first independent Lok Sabha candidate to win from Karnataka in 52 years. She was backed by BJP.
Whereas the UPA alliance combined got 2 seats, in which 1 was won by Indian National Congress (INC)and and 1 was won by Janata Dal(secular)(JD(S)).
The 2024 General Elections will be held in the state in two phases, it will be held on 26 April 2024, and 7 May 2024, during the second and third phases respectively, to elect members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
