Indian Men's Hockey Team Drawn in Tough Pool B for Paris Olympics
The Indian men's hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, faces a challenging path at the Paris Olympics as they find themselves in Pool B alongside formidable opponents. The six-team pool includes reigning Olympic champions Belgium, powerhouse Australia, Rio 2016 champions Argentina, New Zealand, and Ireland. This draw was announced by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) after the conclusion of the Olympic qualifiers.
In Pool A, the top-ranked Netherlands, world champions Germany, Great Britain, Spain, hosts France, and South Africa will battle for supremacy. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
India earned direct entry to the Paris Olympics by clinching the Asian Games gold last year, avoiding the qualifying route. Despite a tough pool, the Indian team, currently ranked world No.3, will aim to make a significant impact at the prestigious sporting event.
