"I'm losing against big players," Daniil Medvedev on losing to Sinner, Alcaraz and Djokovic in the finals
Daniil Medvedev faced a crushing defeat in the semifinals of the 2024 Miami Open, as he was defeated in straight sets by Jannik Sinner on Friday. The Russian could hardly offer any sort of resistance, as he could just three games in total during the entire encounter.
Daniil Medvedev has stated that he has been losing the finals to the best players in the world, and he would like to change the record for the better. The Russian lost the 2023 US Open final to Novak Djokovic, the 2024 Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner and the Indian Wells Masters final to Carlos Alcaraz.
"Well, it depends, because I'm trying, you know, to play the best tournaments in the world. I think if we look tournament by tournament, you know, I'm losing against big players," Daniil Medvedev said.
"I have been in some finals and I lost against Sinner, Djokovic, and Alcaraz, and for sure I want to beat them and, let's say, be better than them. But I didn't manage to do it and I have to work on it either mentally or tennis-wise," he added.
