GETTING READY TO WORKOUT? Oh you forgot to wear shoes!
HOW ABOUT THESE ? The eternal pair of "SPORTS SHOES" among the stilettos, sandals, boots, bellies etc.
When it comes to choosing the right workout shoes,we tend to focus more on the aesthetics and not on the functionality. It's important to take the time to find the right pair of workout shoes, considering the type of activity you'll be doing. THE PROBLEM IS - Most of us use the same pair of sports shoes irrespective of our exercise regime, whether it's jogging, running, cycling, weight training or playing sports.
BUT DO YOU KNOW? Different workouts require specific shoes;
- To improve your workout performance
- To reduce the chances of injury
- To support your feet during workout
GUIDELINES FOR RUNNING SHOES- Good cushion base to act as a shock absorber. Good support as per your foot arch to provide stability ½ to 1 inch between your big toe and front end to avoid black toe. If possible, do a gait analysis to determine suitable shoes.
GUIDELINES FOR WEIGHT TRAINING SHOES - It should have a flat sole /base, canvas shoes are a good option. You can try elevated heel shoes if you're into heavy lifting.
Don't forget to also consider the shape of your feet and any specific foot conditions you may have. Flat feet, high arches, and pronation all require different types of support and cushioning. Investing in a quality pair of workout shoes is worth it in the long run. Your feet and body will thank you!
