Sunil Narine, opening the batting for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL has been a revelation. The KKR opener has taken his game to the next level and it was witnessed by everyone during the IPL clash against the Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens.
Put into bat, KKR had a slow start, with Phil Salt struggling at one end. He was dropped on naught by Riyan Parag, but couldn't capitalised and was dismissed for 10.
This is when Narine decided to break the shackles as he started his usual attacking game. He took a special liking towards the RR Pacer as no one was spared from the wrath of the West Indian all-rounder.
Samson brought in Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin to contain the flow of runs, but that was distant thought as he targeted the smaller region towards square leg and tonked sixes for fun.
As the innings progressed, he struggled a bit, but gained momentum once he went past the 80-run mark, and in no time reached his maiden IPL hundred with a boundary towards the deep mid region. This was Narine's first T20 hundred, which he completed in 49 balls.
Just as he breached the 100-run mark, KKR mentor, Gautam Gambhir ran towards the field and hugged him, expressing the feeling of joy.
