You must know that in India, 600 million people face acute water shortages, and the demand for domestic water has risen by some 20 percent since COVID-19, as awareness about hygiene increased.
Water shortage brings with it other consequences, among them, worsening already existing rural-urban and gender-based inequalities. At the same time, a potential source of water – wastewater, is highly underutilised.
Moreover, groundwater depletion is becoming a global threat to food security, yet the ultimate impacts of depletion on agricultural production and the efficacy of available adaptation strategies remain poorly quantified. Water is indeed an essential resource for life on earth, therefore the government of India should upgrade water conservation methods to fit current requirements.
