Endrick - The Teenage Dream: Have Brazil Found their Next Big Poster Boy?
Brazilian football has never been short of talent. The national team has been graced by the likes of Pele, Zico, Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Neymar among other greats, making the Seleccao one of the most successful nations in the continental and the World stage.
Going into the 2024 Copa America, Brazilian football was missing its flair with the absence of Neymar due to injury. The five-time World Champions were a shell of their former self. However, a seventeen-year-old named Endrick seems to have provided the nation with a much-needed boost!
You might not be very familiar with Endrick. The young forward currently plies his trade with Palmeiras in Brazil. However, the player has already been signed up by the mighty Real Madrid and will be reporting for duty this summer.
The 17-year-old was a substitute in both of Brazil's friendlies against England and Spain. But this didn't stop the youngster from coming on a scoring against both sides. Endrick's goal against England gave Brazil a 1-0 win at the famous Wembley Stadium.
To add to this, the younster scored another goal in the 3-3 draw against Spain which was even more special. Playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, Endrick scored just five minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute for Brazil. With his career just kicking off, will Endrick become the next poster boy for Brazilian football? Let me know your thoughts...
