Did a 14 year old actually kill her self over her first period? This sounds pretty unbelievable


“A 14-year-old girl in Mumbai died by suicide as she was stressed about her first period and had been experiencing pain due to it. Police said the victim did not know about the menstrual cycle, and they will question her family and friends”, this is the story, most news organisations are publishing.

This sounds absolutely unbelievable in today’s time and age.
14 year old is not that young when it comes to menarche ( first period). Girls as young as 10 get periods so most of her school mates must have experienced it already and she must have had some information.
Menstrual pain in certain people is more than normal but it’s not worse than some bad tummy ache due to indigestion.
Can a girls kill her self for this , it seems too simple an explanation.
Police needs to dig deeper.
