Nehru place in New Delhi is one of the big commercial hub with big offices. But today, I'm going to focus on one of such tower which is the office of Paharpur cooling tower.
The building looks like an ordinary one, but has a lot of plants. And on the top, there is a green roof. This particular Paharpur cooling tower is a special building, as it has a unique feature. All the air inside this building is properly filtered because the owner had some lungs related issue and hence wanted totally pollution free space.
So inside the building they keep a lot of plants, which produce a lot of oxygen and also detoxifies the air. It also have a full building air filtration system, which makes sure that there is no PM 2.5 that is there inside air of the building.
Now this building took care of the indoor air quality. But I would like to inform that this is just one point that is highlighted as far as indoor air quality is concerned.
As we know that corona spreads to the airborne root of infection spread which means that when one person coughs there are small tiny little aerosols or little droplets, which are microscopic and carries the virus and spread into the air. These small little aerosols, or aerosolized particles then enter the other person and he gets infected by the same virus that the person who coughed or was simply talking or opened his mouth or was sneezing released into the air.
I would want to focus on the master plan 2041 that has been released by the Delhi Development Authority. Delhi Development Authority have included better habitat design in page, 106 of the Delhi master plan 2041 In section 16.3.3 part 6 in the disaster preparedness and resilience. Which means all the green rated developments, shall be promoted to reduce the dependence on mechanical ventilation systems which pose a threat.
