If I would not have been a cricketer, football would definitely be my next go to option. But since the very beginning I have had a strong inclination towards cricket. Winning a match was definitely the motif while being present on the field but it was not the only reason behind me playing this game. Even when I lost a particular match, my pivotal focus was to come back as a better player and improve on my mistakes.
I have always liked cricket since it keeps one fit. Cricket involves sprinting in-between the wickets, running down your bowling line-up to bowl your next delivery, or simply chasing the ball to save crucial runs. The constant running on the field helps increase stamina.
This reminds me of an incident which made me make the most difficult choice in life. When I was playing for under 19, my assistant coach, Mr. Sanat Kumar had offered me to play in the trials for IPL and on that same day I was offered a job in the Railways where I appeared for the interview and got it. Till today, I still think what if I had gone for the IPL trials, maybe my life would take a different turn. But I do not regret a single choice I have taken till today. There are a lot of memories which gives me immense joy for every on field experience I have had and all of them only strengthens my love for cricket.
