My journey in sports started off with playing football since all my three brothers were already playing football and I continued with the same till 2001. It was my uncle who introduced me to cricket. He was posted as the General Sect. of Barpeta district and he motivated me towards this sport. I started playing in 2002 and in 2003, I played for the category of under 15 in interdistrict level and in the very next year, 2004 I played for the category of Under 15, state level. In the under 15 category, I played 5 matches and took 25 wickets and it was a moment of pride for me.
Following year, in 2005 my Ranji debut took place from NCA in Bangalore and my coach was Sanat Kumar. Then I was being coached by none other than Javed Akhtar Khan. I still remember on 6th of October, 2006 I faced a terrible car accident where my left hand broke and I was hospitalized for 16 days straight and I went through plate fixation. I made my comeback in 2007 where I played for Ranji trophy and in 2007-2008 I played 4 matches and took 14 wickets, followed by in 2008-2009 where I played 3 matches and took 14 wickets. In 2009, in the category of Under 19, I got a call from the Australian tour and I played under the guidance of coach Chandrakan Pandit. There have been several tournaments since then where I've played and won. For instance, in 2011-2012 I won 2 Ranji trophies and in 2014-2015 when my coach was Sanat Kumar, I took 26 wickets and it was indeed a great achievement for me. Following year, 2015-2016 I played 10 Ranji trophy and took 50 wickets and in the same year I played for India A team and finally in 2016 I played for India Blue team under the captain ship of Gautam Gambhir. My growth curve in cricket has been a true learning experience without a doubt.
