Uruguay are set to face Ghana in what would be a winner takes all game in Group H. The two teams last locked horns in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa where Luis Suarez emerged as the hero for Uruguay, taking them to the semi-finals of the tournament!
Suarez was the centre of a very controversial moment that has now become infamous in World Cup history. The two teams were locked 1-1 in the 120th minute and the game looked set to go to penalties. However, Ghana had a big chance in the dying moments however their effort was cleared off the line by Luis Suarez who used both his hands to make a fine "save", resulting in a red card.
Ghana's Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty and the game went to a shootout where Uruguay eventually emerged 4-2 winners and qualified for the semi-finals.
Twelve years on, the two rivals will again lock horns in what would be a decider in Group H. Luis Suarez was questioned about the incident before the game and the Uruguayan claimed that, "I was not the one who missed the penalty".
With such high stakes, tempers could certainly flare on both sides. It has to be seen if it would be Ghana or Uruguay who would join Portugal in the next round from Group H. A draw between the teams would give South Korea an outside chance if they manage to beat Portugal in their game.
