Cole Palmer - The Only Positive Story Coming Out of Chelsea this Season!
Chelsea paid a massive €45m transfer fee for a relatively unknown Manchester City forward last summer. The 21-year-old, known as Cole Palmer had just helped City win the UEFA Super Cup final scoring in the final against Sevilla. However, Palmer felt that leaving Pep Guardiola's side would be the best option for him as he was looking for more gametime.
Fast forward to March 2024, it can confidently be said that the gamble has paid off for both Chelsea and Palmer as the youngster is the only shining ray coming from Stamford Bridge this season. In 35 games for the Blues this season, Palmer has scored 15 goals and provided 12 assists.
Owing to his performances for Chelsea, Palmer was also given his international debut by England manager Gareth Southgate. If the 21-year-old continues his fine form, he may even make the cut for the European Championship squad that will be traveling to Germany this June.
The in-form Palmer has four goals and three assists in his last four games for the Blues. The Chelsea star came in clutch once again tonight, scoring both goals as Mauricio Pochettino's side drew 2-2 with Burnley. Will Cole Palmer become one of the greats of the Premier League in ten years from now? Let me know your thoughts...
