Chandigarh journalists win first runner-up trophy in All India Media Premier League in Lucknow
Chandigarh journalists' cricket team won the first runner-up trophy in the All India Media Premier League held at Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, on Sunday.
Both Chandigarh media and Lucknow media registered two wins each in as many matches at the league stage, but on the bases of better run rate, Lucknow was declared winner, while Chandigarh was placed second.
In the league stage, Chandigarh defeated Allahabad in the first match, while got the better off Delhi in the second match. Whereas, Lucknow defeated Kanpur in the first match and beat Allahabad in the second match.
Securing four points each after two matches, Lucknow's run rate was over 6, while Chandigarh's run rate was around 0.7
The inter-media cricket tournament was organised by the Lucknow journalists.
Chandigarh's allrounder Gurmeet Singh Valtoha was adjudged the 'man of the match' in the first league match against Allahabad, while medium pacer Ramesh Handa got the 'man of the match' award against Delhi.
