All India Media Premier League: Chandigarh journalists register a win
Chandigarh journalists' cricket team register a win on the opening day of the All India Media Premier League held at Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, on Friday.
The inter-media cricket tournament is organised by the Lucknow journalists.
The Chandigarh media team got the better of Allahabad by six wickets.
Batting first, Allahabad scored 91 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 15 overs.
Mohdrazi with 26 runs was the highest scorer for Allahabad, while Amit Srivastava scored 22 runs for the side.
As fas bowling for Chandigarh side was concerned, Gurminder Singh with three wickets was the most successful bowler. Gurmeet Singh Valtoha (2) and Ramesh Handa (1) were the other wicket taker for the side.
In reply, Chandigarh surpassed the target in 13.1 overs and with six wickets in hand.
Gurmeet Singh Valtoha scored 38 runs, Naveen Tyagi 20 runs and Satish Kumar 12 runs were the main contributors for Chandigarh team.
Valtoha was adjudged man of the match.
