Barcelona News: Ansu Fati allowed to leave as the club is solely focused on Messi's return!
Barcelona have reportedly informed Ansu Fati that he can leave the club this summer as they look to facilitate Lionel Messi's return to the club. Messi is eager to return to Camp Nou, and the club is working to construct a deal that complies with La Liga's financial regulations.
Ansu Fati, once considered the future of Barcelona, inherited Messi's iconic number 10 shirt at just 18 years old. However, injuries have hampered his progress in recent seasons, and even though he's consistently fit now, the 20-year-old has only been an occasional player under Xavi. Of his 31 appearances in La Liga so far in the 2022/23 season, he has only started 11 times.
Jorge Mendes, Fati's agent, recently attempted to engineer a swap deal with Wolves involving midfielder Ruben Neves, sources indicate that Neves is not a priority for Barcelona this summer. They are more interested in Ilkay Gundogan, who would be available on a free transfer.
Wolves are interested in Fati, but he has his sights set on a bigger club. West Ham has also shown interest in him, but Fati wants to join a top-tier club competing at the top of the table. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have been linked with him in the past, but as of now, none of them have any active negotiations with the Barcelona youngster.
