As Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) gears up for new launches in India, the lineup of upcoming 7-seater Toyota SUVs is generating significant buzz. Here's a preview of three models that enthusiasts can eagerly await:
1. 7-Seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder:
Based on the Maruti Suzuki Y17 platform, the three-row version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder promises shared characteristics with the Y17, including the 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. Retaining a similar wheelbase to its five-seater counterpart, the seven-seater Hyryder will undergo rear modifications for the additional row. Anticipated to hit the market around the mid-decade, it aligns with the Y17's timeline.
2. Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid:
Following the global introduction of the mild-hybrid Hilux, Toyota is set to debut the Fortuner mild hybrid version. Given the Fortuner's popularity in India, it could be one of the early markets to embrace this technology. The mild-hybrid system, working with the GD series diesel engine, aims to enhance acceleration, fuel efficiency, and performance while minimizing emissions.
3. 7-Seater Toyota Corolla Cross:
Speculations suggest that Toyota plans to launch a seven-seater variant of the global Corolla Cross specifically for the Indian market in early 2025. Built on the TNGA-C platform shared with the Innova Hycross, it is positioned above the seven-seater Hyryder. The rumored engine options include the 2.0L NA petrol and the 2.0L strong hybrid petrol found in the Hycross.
With these exciting additions to the Toyota SUV lineup, the brand is poised to offer Indian consumers diverse choices that combine performance, efficiency, and spacious seating configurations.
