I liked the headline. But in your opinion, do they actually carry wonders?
Yes. She can
Nice, crisp review
Anjali Menon’s Wonder Women is a breezy emotional journey of six to-be mothers at Sumana, a wellness center run by Dr.Nandita, a pre-natal tutor. Equipping them for easy delivery through positive and knowledgeable interactive sessions is the duty of WW. 80 minutes of this film deals with no sob stories and no trivial situations. It is exactly as a new batch enters the session and their bonding thickens in a short span creating a stress-free, healthier space for them to rejoice. You can also be a part of, as no language barrier, the entire movie is in English. Regional languages just surface.
Back home scenes are pretty normal, expected situations and worries. Veni’s mother-in-law changes her conventions overnight, Anjali’s sudden way of character transformation. On the other end, when husbands talk, women turn compassionate and when women talk, husbands turn empathetic – wow!
WW doesn’t carry a tale. Sort of colourful women and frames like a promotional video. The take is, pregnancy is not a worried, body-chaotic situation. You can relieve pressure and celebrate it with the right approach. In other words, debunking myths.
The ever-green Nadhiya Moidu was authentic as Nandita, a caring, well-mannered pre-natal coach. Amruta Subhash, one of the amazing talents of Indian Cinema made me feel Jaya, a worried Marathi woman from a humble background who faced two miscarriages before. Padmapriya was genuine as Veni., second coming is good for the lady. Nithya Menon, as usual, radiated light on the screen as Nora. Rebel Saya was cool. Sayanora could pull it off this time. I liked Parvathi as Mini, controlled emotions as measured. Archana Padmini's gracy could gel with the new batch. Trust me, there was very little for these WW to act.
They call it a tribute to mothers – I would correct –to sophisticated young women eagerly expecting their first ones.
Hmm..can I be more loud about a FDFS?
