And they Capitalize on negative publicity.
None forces you to watch a movie which you neednt watch. So whats the big deal 🤔
When CBFC did the certification based on the edits asked for by them to the makers, the whole world seems to be on a criticising mode. But why??
The more you talk about the movie, the more they capitalize. Movies definitely need to be taken as movies alone. There had been always movies which seemed to have direct link with people dead or alive and have survived with or without a disclaimer. And these did not disturb public order, decency and morality of Kerala ever. Then, why?
There had been movies which were banned, went to higher panel for appeal, banned again and even went to apex court. There had been movies which violated all sorts of social norms, brought out the caste systems, encouraged misogyny, clapped for socially unacceptable factors as perceived by people, but still survived. They came and went - made some noise, met the ROI and tada - disappeared.
While We have freedom expression on one side & movies to be treated as an art form, creativity etc, there had been multiple occasions where CBFC has been taken to the court of law and there had been different solutions put forth based on contexts. Movies like Tale of 4 citiies, Bandit Queen, Ore Oru Gramathile, PK, Udta Punjab, Lipstick under my Burkha,to name a few.
Choice is yours! You decide what you want to see. There are more important things around. Grow up!
