Since clinching my first bronze medal in the 2016 nationals, my taekwondo journey has been one of continuous growth. The turning point came in 2017, securing gold in national and university competitions for three consecutive years. Notably, I reached the quarter-finals at the World University Games in Taipei in 2017 and triumphed at the South Asian Games in 2019, a proud moment representing my country. Facing a Nepalese Olympian in the finals, I won decisively, boosting my confidence.
Despite the challenges of 2020, I seized a bronze at the Fujairah Open Ranking Tournament in Dubai. During the lockdown, I obtained special permission to train at SAI, focusing on Asian Qualification. Surrounded by support and guidance, including from Asian Games medallist Surinder Bhandari, I addressed my shortcomings and honed my skills. Presently, with uncertainty about international tournaments, my focus remains on rigorous training and fitness, aiming to qualify for the Olympics through the Asian Qualification event. While acknowledging the long road ahead, I am determined to contribute to Indian taekwondo's presence on the global stage with unwavering dedication and hard work.
