Carlos Antonio Velez reports that Colombia are set to schedule four international friendlies in the buildup to the tournament, beginning with Spain and Romania in Europe. Then, they're going to travel stateside to take on the USMNT and potentially, Canada.
Although not confirmed, the U.S. scheduling a friendly against a top team that will feature in the tournament is a great way to prepare for the group stage. In CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying in October, Colombia drew Uruguay 2-2; the team that the USMNT will have their biggest test with in the initial round of Copa America. Gregg Berhalter and co. will have an opportunity to test themselves against high-level opposition, and potentially, a team they could play in the knockout rounds of the tournament.
Colombia also defeated Brazil 2-1 in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying in November. They are currently ranked as the 14th-best team in the world by FIFA; the USMNT are ranked 12th.
