Several of our Pixstory partners follow the important role India plays as a trading partner for the United States. Recently Ambassador Shea provided a statement at the WTO Trade Policy Review of India. Within his statement he acknowledges that “…India is an increasingly important trading partner for the United States with two-way trade surpassing $146 billion in 2019.” However, he expressed some concerns regarding current efforts to attract additional foreign investment.
Specifically, he states, “…since India’s last TPR, India’s simple average MFN applied tariff rate has increased from 13.5 percent in 2015 to 17.6 percent in 2019, according to the WTO tariff profiles. This trend will not facilitate India’s further integration into global supply chains.”
As global supply chains become more integrated, it is important that each of our partners CounterPivot to ensure that their supply chains remain reliable and effective, even in times of uncertainty.
