Defending champions France overcame most successful champions(9 titles) Spain's challenge in the semi final.
Germany will play against France in the final of UEFA U17 European competitions today(02 June, 2023) hosted by Hungary. Match will be played at the Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion, Budapest.
Road to Final
Germany had to overcome a tough fight from Poland. In an 8 goal thriller, Poland took the lead twice. But, Germany leveled and took 3-2 lead in the 65th minute. Poland were not giving up, and scored again to make it 3-3. Germany went ahead and scored twice in the last 15 minutes.
Switzerland were their opponents in the quarter finals, where they won it in penalties 1-1(3-2). German goalkeeper Schmitt saved two penalties.
Earlier, Germany were Group C leaders by winning all three matches, ahead of France, Portugal and Scotland. They have won it in 3 previous occasions.
France beat Spain 3-1 in the semi final. After a goalless first half, Spain took the lead with a wonderful goal from Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. But, France came back into the match with goals scored in 73',80', and 90+1' minutes.
England were the opponents of France in the quarter finals, where they won 1-0.
